Pentax ME Super SLR 35mm camera with 50mm f/2.0 lens and Avigon UV filter

The Pentax ME Super is a semi-automatic single-lens-reflex camera manufactured between 1979-1984 by Pentax in Japan. The camera is powered by two LR44 batteries (not included). These cameras are great, and even though Nikon and Canon rule today's market, these Pentax cameras and lenses were made to last, built like a house. The lens is a K-mount lens which would also fit the popular Pentax K1000 for example.

- Pentax ME Super SLR 35mm camera body
- Asahi Pentax 50mm f/2.0 lens
- Avigon UV filter 49mm ring size

The camera body is not operational. I tested the film advance lever and the shutter release button and they do not work. The mirror is present and by pulling a little pin inside the body, you can make the mirror come down, but it doesn't stay down like it should. There is some black paint coming off on the metal parts of the body (see pictures). Otherwise the body is very clean with hardly any dirt or dust both inside and out. The lens is also very clean and is protected in the front by a UV filter. The lens does not come with a lens cap, but of course I will package the camera carefully to protect both lens and camera. I tested the lens mechanically (on my own Pentax K1000) and all diaphragm openings work. Perhaps if you're handy you can fix this camera, but I don't know enough about it to be able to repair it. Using it for parts or to display is of course still a good option and you could certainly use the lens on any K-mount Pentax without a problem. If this camera was in working order, I would have charged quite a bit more for it. The lens is clean and inside and out, although there might be a speck of dust here and there, which will not affect the use of the lens. On one side of the lens barrel, on the black metal part, there are a few shallow scratches (about 1/5 of an inch), probably from something sitting up against it during transportation at one point in the last 30 some years.
