The covers of this book are my own layered handmade papers created from dried banana peels and recycled cotton fiber. The haphazard nature of this paper creates an amazing texture and truly unique effect! Papers are wrapped around warp-resistant book board and Coptic bound with waxed hemp cord. Inside covers are finished off with more of my handmade pale gray paper. OOAK.

Contains 96 pages (48 sheets) of white acid-free, heavy weight paper; 110lbs. Takes all pen types. Makes for a wonderful journal, sketchbook, and especially a guest book for your next special occasion!

Measures: 5 ¼” x 4” x 1”
Created with ALL acid-free materials!

All of my banana peel papers are created solely by me. The banana peel s are air dried then boiled with soda ash to neutralize the PH. Using a house hold blender, I blend the peels in water with bits of acid free paper to produce the paper pulp. I create these papers in small batches and each sheet is unique to the next. I am grateful to all my friends and colleagues who continually save and donate their banana peels to me, as it takes about 4-5 peels to create a single 9 inch square sheet of banana peel paper.
FUN FACT: I don’t eat bananas.
