Presented is a large, old handsome pine box covered in mahogany veneer with brass and mother of pearl inlaid. The box has clean, elegant lines and an sloped four angled lid with attractive molding. The tea caddy compartments that are normally on the inside are missing. The key escutcheon is missing.

Finish is scuffed and scratched. Lid doesn't fit exactly right and is hard to close. There has been some damage on the wood that holds the hinges, and some hinge screws have been replaced.
There are no identifying marks on the box as one would expect.

The box is in good condition for its age. Some of the mahagany veneer is missing. The box still has its original bun feet. The original locking mechanism is also present. We do not have a key and we do not know if the lock works.

The tea caddy is 5 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide and 8 inches long.
