A great collection of four antique books in beautiful dark reds, and one marbled half leather volume, sold for home and office decor. All have lovely gilt lettering on spine. Publication dates range from circa 1904 to 1915. Chosen for their appearance as a group! These are lovely old books which have a beautiful warm glow of age and history for your home or office shelf!

An instant vintage book collection!

They have minor flaws which are described below.

1) Joseph II and His Court by L. Muhlbach. [In English] translated from the German by Adelade DeV Chaudron. Appleton Co., NY , 1911. Lovely Marbled boards; deep red half-leather binding. Rough-trimmed page edges. Leather is slightly chipped at top of spine and worn at corners. Marbled boards are chipped and abraded at top and bottom edges of covers. Pages are sun-darkened and foxed at edges; there is some interior toning to pages, especially to endpapers. Bottom page edges are slightly worn and toned. A wonderful vintage bookplate belonging to the original owner is affixed to front endpaper.

2) Gold of the Gods; Craig Kennedy Stories, Vol. 8 by Arthur B. Reeve. Harpers, NY, 1915. Condition: Cloth covers have weathering; cloth has deteriorated and faded in spotty areas. There is a small tear on edge of title page. Page edges are dust-darkened. Otherwise clean and unmarked.

3) A Far Country by Winston Churchill. The Macmillan & Co., London, 1915. Top edge is gilt. Condition: A number is written in blue ballpoint pen ink on half title page. Front free endpaper has been removed and the stub pasted down. Cloth covers have some weathering and some wear at spine edges, corners and extremities. Gilding on spine is somewhat faded but bright on covers. Binding is whole and tight, pages. Interior is clean and unmarked.

4) The Complete Poetical Works of Joh Greenleaf Whittier. Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1904. Original owner's name is written in old ink on front free endpaper and a later owner's address label is affixed to front fixed endpaper. This book has very minimal shelfwear. Otherwise a superbly preserved and lovely volume with a great frontispiece portrait of Holmes. A tight, clean and bright
