My new series of small dolls for 2012. These little characters are put together with very careful attention to detail, using embroidery and paint to make each doll unique. The bodies are linen and there may be little threads and mends left exposed as delightful evidence of their hand crafted nature. These little dolls make lovely displays around the house.

Inspiration has come from vintage cartoons, illustrations and nursery rhymes from the 1920s to the 1960s. These little characters give a fun nod to the past without being too nostalgic! I hope they are an inspiring mix of then and now.

A whisper of yesterday, a spoonful of childhood, a handful of today and a sprinkle of tomorrow!

This is London girl, she is a fun celebration of 2012 with the Olympics and the queens diamond jubilee. She has a union jack felt hat an embroidered face and red pom pom ears, her dress is made from lovely red, white and blue tassel trim. All clothes are sewn in place. Polyester filled.

The last photo shows a small water colour of London girl available in a separate listing.

Each doll is named and numbered and will come in its own little cotton bag.
London girl is no. 18 in this series of small art dolls.
She is not suitable for young children due to small parts and delicate sewing.
