Vintage entomology offset lithograph of Coccinella ursina. This vintage ladybug print, based on a watercolour illustration from William Hunter's collection at Glasgow University, was published in 1940 in England. See full image on thumbnail number 2.

This vintage plate would make a perfect gift for anyone interested in entomology, natural history, insects or beetles. I have many of these prints, they would look nice framed and hanged on the wall as a set.

Coccinellidae is a family of beetles, known as ladybirds or ladybugs. Scientists increasingly prefer the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles as these insects are not true bugs. Lesser-used names include God's cow, ladycock, lady cow, and lady fly

Condition: Excellent.

Size: 5.8" by 9.2"

This is the actual page from the 1940 book, not a reproduction
