simple…beautiful…illumination…

Thank you for previewing this fixture...If you like what you see but maybe want to customize it in some way just ask.

Exposed socket design dates back to the early 1900's. When simple pendant lighting was the norm and wall switches were well....not invented yet. I love using a keyed (turn knob or pull chain) style socket with a lot of my designs. It harkens back to an earlier time when things were simple and beautiful. Using this exposed socket design allows me to create a feel that will fit in all styles of living while giving a nod to a time gone by.

To me much of the timeless beauty of a quality fixture has to do with the look, feel and quality of the wire used in its design. Back in the early 1900’s Silk and cotton were commonly used to braid wire. The wire I use is a reproduction of this beautiful period wiring made right here in the USA.

** About this particular shade… This is part of a collection I was lucky enough to find that was saved from the long closed Scranton Lace Company in Scranton PA. These sockets were lovingly saved and brought back to life (after a heavy cleaning I might add)... Scranton Lace Co. was founded in 1897 and was the largest producer of Nottingham Lace in the world! Many of the pieces I have from this property are likely early 1900's era. At the time of this listing I have 12 of this socket. Feel free to ask about multiple quantities.

NOTE: This is one of a collection of same style sockets. The piece pictured may not be the exact piece you get, but these photos do represent the quality of the collection. If you prefer an exact pic of the socket you get...please contact me first. These are vintage porcelain sockets and wear and tear should be expected. Wear and tear could include fading, paint splatter, finish inconsistencies, chips etc.
