This beautiful Royal Albert cake plate dates from the early 1930s. The Crown China backstamp was used from 1927 to 1935 and did not include the pattern name. The same pattern was later re-produced with a lighter gold after World War II and called Old English Rose. The name of the pattern was then added to the backstamp. Earlier pieces like these are now quite rare.

The plate is in great condition; the previous owner kept it in her glass cabinet from new. The gold on this china has to be seen to really appreciate it; the thickness and vibrancy is quite unique and you can see the difference in the later pieces made after WWII. The plate measures 9⅜ in across from handle to handle.

The plate will be carefully packed in bubble wrap inside a postage-style cardboard box
