This vintage-inspired dress was originally a Hula costume for a song about 1940’s nightlife in a town full of Hawaiian vahines and American Marines! It’s a reproduction of a classy 1940’s evening dress with an infusion of carefree island style from the fun floral fabric.

The dress was cut from a re-released vintage 1940 Vogue pattern (see photo) and made of turquoise jacquard with a pink and orange hibiscus flower design. It features a v-neck front, lower v-neck back and very distinct ruched side panels. It’s cut on the bias, has centre front and back seams and a reinforced centred zipper in the back. The skirt is a full length a-line and drapes wonderfully when worn.
