This is an end table that has been made using steel and reclaimed/salvaged wood. The wood is from a a barge that was destroyed by the tidal surge that was a result of the March 2011 Tsunami in Japan. The barge had been moored off the California coast (Mission Bay), when the surge of water traveled thousands of miles and caused the barge to break loose of its mooring. Luckily, a small amount of the wood was salvaged and I am now making custom furniture with it. The wood, which has some of the most beautiful patina I have ever seen, is incredibly varied with rich tones of red, green, turquoise, white, brown and more. Each piece of lumber is unique. The wood of this table has been left natural (unsealed, but protected with polyurethane). I can also make the same table with a sealer on the wood which gives it a darker appearance (I'd be happy to send pictures if you're interested in seeing the wood sealed). The legs are bent steel which gives it a great vintage/industrial and mid century modern look. The steel has been left raw to give it an industrial feel. I can also make the table with the steel done in black patina for a more "vintage" feel.

The dimensions are 16.25 x 17.375 w x 17.5 D making it a good size for most people; however, if you would prefer a different size, please let me know and I'd be happy to make it for you.

Also, if you are in southern California, I might be able to deliver for free. Shipping charges listed are to cont. U.S. only. Please inquire for Hawaii and Alaska. Turnaround is approximately two weeks.

See my other listings for other items made of this wood. Also, I'd be happy to make other custom furniture for you using this wood. Just let me know what you are thinking and I'll let you know what your options are. Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to see more pictures.
