You can start right away with this beginner patchwork sewing kit and pincushion tutorial. Nothing else is needed except scissors (or a thread cutter). Ideal for starting hexagonal English paper piecing patchwork, it will make2-4 different pincushions. It comes in an A4 size project box, perfect for yourself or as a gift.
This is such a lovely traditional pastime; relaxing and portable slow sewing for any quiet moments.
This listing is for the "Stormy sea" blue set but other colours are available as shown in other images-just message me for a listing.
This kit contains 30 pieces of hand cut hexagonal vintage Laura Ashley fabric (4 sets of 6 and 6 different single ones) and 30 die cut card templates.
Also included are sewing threads and a replica vintage needlebook with a needle and pins plus filling for two pincushions and some vintage buttons.
You can use the completed 'hexies' to make at least 2 make 2 traditional flower style hexagonal pin cushions or 4 smaller mini hexie pincushions. You may choose to use them to make a single sample piece of patchwork e.g. as on a small pillow or piece for a hoop, or 4 flower shapes (coasters)...as you wish!

30 hexagonal pieces of hand cut vintage Laura Ashley fabric (4 sets of 6 and 6 different single ones).The fabric is 1976 vintage but never used; carefully kept by me. I doubt I will ever use all I have and I think this is the exact use it was intended for.
30 die cut card templates (with punched holes for easy pinning and easier removing once finished) and a window template.
Plus white tacking cotton, coloured sewing thread, a needle and pins in a replica vintage packet and filling.
Packed in a robust cardboard box A4 size reusable as a project storage box.
