Twinkling stars, shooting stars, they are all special and magical.

This listing is for the ornament only.

I designed this sweet star to reflect the stars that twinkle and shine on the cover of the book "The Little Prince". The star is my own design, cut from wood, painted, holes drilled for the wire hanger, which is anodized and even sometimes a little rusty.

Each year, I make at least 30 ornaments to donate - because I never know how many people will show up to our December Meeting - or who they may want to take an extra one for.
I sell the ornaments that are left - this in turn helps me pay for the supplies for the next year's ornament.

Every year for our December meeting of the Compassionate Friends, special portions of "The Little Prince" are read aloud. In 2006 I had the opportunity to purchase paperback copies of the book for $1.00 each from my daughter's Scholastic book order. I purchased 30 copies, and designed and made 30 of these ornaments to hand out at the 2006 December meeting.

Since 1997 I have been making and donating the Christmas ornaments for our local Compassionate Friends group. They have to be weather proof - because they usually hang outside on a pine tree for the month of December. They also must have a place to write on them - because everyone uses them to write a special message to their child, who is no longer here on earth.
I always count on 'divine inspiration' regarding these ornaments from my own personal angel who was born on November 26, 1995, and left us so quickly on January 2, 1996. I do this to celebrate the short, but meaningful life of my second daughter Michaela Anne, 'Callie'.
She has not let me down in all of the years I have been making these ornaments, nor have I duplicated a design. Thank you sweet angel :)
