This handmade sushi serving tray is made out of a piece of beautiful roasted maple and inlayed with light violet red Bubinga for its built in soy sauce bowl and chopstick rest. Two Roasted Maple French cleat style feet are placed on the bottom of the sushi tray for additional easy handling and storing if you put up French cleat on your wall space.
Our making process is with a combination of using CNC router to design and cut each piece for precision based on the individual wood stock we used. And then it is finished using additional hand tools, carefully hand sanded, and finished with Walrus Cutting Board Oil, 100% food-safe and free of toxins and synthetics, it is a blend of coconut oil, mineral oil, vitamin E and beeswax.
5.5″ x 13″ x 0.75” (1.25″ with feet)
Our French cleat feet allows better air circulation to dry the wood board, but it is best to dry your board on its side to avoid warping. NEVER put your wood board in the dishwasher. Clean by gently wiping the surface with warm water. Avoid soap as it may dry out the board and remove the oil and wax finish that is protecting the board. If soap is used, reapplying conditioner with the tips from the maintenance info below.
The maintenance of any wood serving boards is extremely important for the longevity of your investment and to keep the board from drying out or splitting. We highly recommend monthly or bi-monthly application of a cutting board oil or wax to season your wood board and keep it looking beautiful and stay in good condition. Examples of food-save cutting board oils and waxes are Howard Cutting Board Oil, Howard Butcher Block Conditioner and our favorite so far the Walrus Cutting Board Oil, which can be purchased online and at most major hardware stores and wood/lumber supply stores.
