Victorian Silver Chatelaine Stamp Holder Charm

Beautiful antique silver Victorian stamp holder charm. This rare beauty was originally part of a Victorian chatelaine...it lost its way through time and made it here to you! The case has lovely ornate engraving across the front with the word "Stamps" surrounded by detailed little sprigs. It opens on the right with a tiny raised knob and the inner portion of the case pulls outward. Gently push the inner case inward and it clicks closed. The backside is plain and the top has a sturdy loop with jump ring still attached. The metal is definitely sterling silver, although unmarked and untested. Measures 3.8cm x 2.7cm (1-1/2 inch x 1-1/16 inch) with wear including light tarnish, faint surface scratches, and a tiny dot size ding on the front just above the letter "S." The top edges of the inner and outer casing (where the seams meet when closed) are slightly curled, but it appears the piece was made this way--most likely to aid in keeping it properly closed. A gorgeous rare little holder for collections, jewelry, and so on! This is a one of a kind piece here at Treasure Booth :)
