A lovely vintage six drawer oak library card catalog file made by Globe Wernicke.

This is quite a beauty and not so common in the six drawer configuration. The cabinet is made of oak and has paneled sides. The drawer fronts are oak as well, the drawer interiors are metal which are painted green. The drawers have metal sliders inside which are marked "GLOBE" and the remnants of the Globe decal is still on the top center of the cabinet. The drawer label/pulls are brass and have a mellow aged patina.

The cabinet measures 14 inches wide, 13 1/4 inches tall and 17 inches deep. The drawer interiors are 3 1/2 inches by 5 inches; the exteriors 4 by 6 inches.

Condition: very good with some scratches and wear to finish; a few small gouges on the top along the back edge. The recessed part of the sides has a veneer covering and has some vertical splits.
The bottom left drawer does not match the others -- it is slightly smaller, the wood grain runs the opposite direction and the pull is a bit different. The color is a very close match and it does not look out of place. The interior of this drawer is also metal and has more corrosion and wear than the other drawers.
Overall a very solid and attractive piece.
