This is a beautiful and unusual piece of amber glass! It's a dolphin sauce dish or gravy boat. The lid has a dolphin on top of it and his tail acts as the handle for the lid.

The dolphin lid has a water-ripple design and the bowl has a window pane on the front surrounded by c-scrolls and a basket weave design. The bowl portion also has a lip for pouring and a pouring handle. All in excellent vintage condition!

Made by Cambridge Glass Co. circa 1929-1939. There's a tiny "c" on the bottom.
It is elegant glass, a form of depression glass. Fewer pieces were made due to higher manufacturing costs. Hand finishing was required after being removed from the mold. Elegant glass was the only depression glass to use a stamp or mold letter.

7 1/2" x 3" x 4 1/2" tall with lid.
