The glass wasp is very life-like, inspecting the outside of its home. The nest has a clear loop on the top and will come with a clear, elastic cord attached to hang it by.

This is a new collaborative effort between myself and my friend, Jeremy Sinkus. He made the nest, which is borosilicate. I made the hornet, which is "soft" glass (Effetre brand, 104 C.O.E.) and did the adhesive work using a glass-on-metal adhesive. The adhesive is strong, but still slightly flexible to allow joining the two different types of glass. The sum is greater than the parts, in my opinion!

While the hornet may be small, but it's ultra-detailed like all of my work! It has individual tarsae (segments) in its feet, textured wings, and many-segmented antennae. Not to mention its nice, striped abdomen with a tiny stinger!

General info
------------
- Approximate size: Hornet is just about 1 inch long, with 1 inch wingspan - *tiny* Nest is about 2.5 inches tall and 2 inches wide. A couple feet of elastic cord is securely attached.

- Hornet made from Moretti/Effetre glass, nest made from borosilicate glass - joined with glass adhesive.

- Both parts are annealed in a computer-controlled kiln for strength and durability.
