This beautiful, Hand-Painted Cherry Teapot was made somewhere between the 1930's and 1940's, to the best of my estimation. The style is wonderful, with a "banded" mold that includes tiny rings from bottom to top of the piece, a "Twig" style, molded Handle and gorgeous, "Cold Painted" Cherries on both the front and the back! The "cold paint" was applied after all of the glaze was completed and the last firing of the pottery was done. Most often, this "cold paint" is either completely worn off, or bits and pieces are left which make the piece appear dirty rather than worn. This piece, however, still retains 99.9% of it's "cold paint"!! Amazing that there are only a few tiny spots that were worn and these are so miniscule that I doubt anyone would ever see them. The pot is in Very Good Condition for it's age, with only some crazing to the bottom third of the piece. This shows much darker in the photos than it is, as most of you know. The lid is no longer with the piece, but with the lovely, lime green ring around the top rim, it is hardly noticeable. This maker and exact style of "Marukomware" was found in one of my Japan Collectible books and if you would like the title, I will be happy to post it, however, I left the book at work today and am now at home working.

This piece measures approx. 6" tall and 8.75" wide, from spout to handle edge. It is a creamy, almost pale yellow color with lovely, deep red cherries and two tone green leaves. The handle is brown. A wonderful piece to add to your collection, display in your Vintage or Cherry themed Kitchen, to arrange flowers in. I'm sure you have your own ideas and as much as I fought myself to keep it, I simply must let go of some things. If you have any questions or would like another photo, simply write. Best of all, it is now on SALE!

Thank you for stopping in and I hope you will enjoy viewing all of my items, including the two other listings for Vintage Cherry pieces. Also, I have a second Etsy Shop, OneBarefootGypsy, where I bring you my own, One-of-a-Kind, Handcrafted Heirloom Jewelry created with Vintage Components such as Crystal, Brass, Glass, Lace, Fabric, Ribbon, Chain and so much more. I hope you will take a moment to have a look. Enjoy!

*I PREFER payment with PAYPAL, however, I will happily accept your credit card payment through Etsy as well. :)

*FOREIGN BUYERS, PLEASE NOTE: Due to the new postal rate increase, I must ask that you write for all shipping quotes. These rates have now doubled in many cases and in some, are even more. My apologies, however, if you send your information, I will happily provide you with the new rates.

**U.S. Buyers, PLEASE NOTE: Postal Rates have gone up across the board, so I must advise that the shipping quote shown here may still not have been corrected. I only charge you for what the Postal Costs are to YOUR AREA. The estimate below is based on the coastal regions of the U.S. which are the most expensive. Refunds are issued for any overpayment you may make.
In order to go through every one of my listings and change these rates, it will take some time, so please request a corrected quote prior to purchase, or, if you are not concerned with the increase, feel free to purchase immediately. Be aware, however, that you may be required to pay the excess prior to your item being shipped. Thank you and I am sorry for the trouble, but with these rate changes, it is so difficult to stay accurate.
