Antique French Copper Pot (cloche en cuivre) bell of copper

Very handsome, very old, French bell shaped copper pot with iron handle.
What a wonderful addition to any French kitchen, or any part of your house
or garden decor.

The pot is 5.5" H, base diameter of 7.75", 6.5 " upper diameter, handle 4" H at center.
I believe the pot is primarily zinc, with tin and copper plating, and heavy copper on the bottom
surface. The interior has tinning which is in reasonable condition.

The mix (melange) of the different metals on the exterior give a beautiful patina to the piece.
Ready to be hung, or filled with herbs, flowers, wild grasses, a great addition to so many
decors. This pot comes to you from the South of France, St. Maximin. Impossible to date,
it was probably used for a multitude of cooking preparations. Copper pots of this bell
form were often used to make various confitures (jellies), but was just as likely a fait tout
pot (do everything).

Cuivre from France, just pour vous !
