This is the way tillandsias grow in their natural environment, attaching themselves to the porous bark of trees and absorbing moisture from the tropical air. I have carefully mounted six different tillandsia species to this cork bark wall hang. A lovely green montana rosette shares space with a blushing little bulbosa at the top, with a delicate filifolia reaching from below. To the left, a tenuifolia bronze and a juncea fan outward from the center, while a coniferous looking funkiana peeps out from the edge. Virgin cork bark is a lightweight, sustainable, renewable, and environmentally friendly natural resource. Cork bark is “stripped” off the cork oak trees at appropriate intervals without damage to the trees and allows new bark to grow in its place so there is no harm to nature; no trees are cut or destroyed. Simply dunk the plant in water 1-2 times per week or mist frequently. The cork bark is rot resistant and may be moistened as well, though the air plants would prefer it not be wet all the time. Only place the piece in its permanent location when completely dry. An incredible display of these amazing little creatures and perfect gift for lovers of the natural world. It can also be leaned against shelf or other flat surface. Cork bark measures approximately 7" by 5", with the plants extending the display. Unpackaging and care instructions will be provided. Shipping charge includes a 72 hour shipping warmer pack to help protect plants from cold weather if needed. This lovely piece of living art will ship USPS priority with delivery confirmation.
