Here is a piece of habotai 100% pure silk that I hand dyed with plants, using the cold dye technique. That means it hasn't been simmered or boiled. No mordants have been used in the dye, so it is safe for your skin.

It is very hard to show all the beauty of this piece in the picture. When you hold it in your hands it becomes magical, carrying on it all the scents and colours of Australian bush. There are so many hues and patterns on it, that they can not be shown in pictures.

It is organic, pure natural, wonderful and airy with unexpected design that can not be repeated.

There are some eucalyptus leaf imprints on this scarfs! It's got very subtle colours and patterns ranging from yellow, red, orange, mauve, tan to purple with grey and black accents. I love it! The colour of this piece slightly changes from one side to another. Same piece of silk, different at the ends.

Use it as a wrap, shawl, scarf, or for felting and dressmaking. It is large enough for two scarves.

The dimensions are 85 x 45 inches. This paj silk is 5m/m.

If you felt on it, the final dimensions will be about 140- 160 cm long and 60- 70 cm wide, depending of the amount of wool used. Usually it shrinks about 40% when felted.

It can be made into a wonderful unique scarf, wrap or shawl, a nice summery top or a skirt.
It is transparent and airy.

It ships within 24 hours and the washing instructions are included.

Basically, cool hand wash separately in mild detergent or even better - baby shampoo, and add a quarter cup of vinegar to the final rinse to refresh the colour. Expect the colour to run slightly during wash, as with all silks. This particular piece is very much colourfast due to the plants that were used in the dyeing of it.

The pictures can't show all the beauty of this piece of silk and all the unexpected patterns happening all over it. You will absolutely love it.

None. The only dyeing agent applied to my silks is pure natural vinegar.
The silks are sometimes dyed in reactive iron, aluminium or copper pots, but they are thoroughly washed and rinsed after the dyeing process is finished.
