This beautiful brooch was my great grandmother's. We've always thought it was Sapphire, it looks exactly like a Sapphire, but I went to a Jewelry store to see what it really was, at first the jeweler also thought it was a real and beautiful Sapphire, but after after examining it, he said it was a rare Tourmaline from Paraiba, usually these gems are other color, but this one is a ver rare one, because it looks exactly like a Sapphire. All gems are tested.

The gorgeous brooch, looks very very similar to Princess Diana's engagament ring design.

This blue tourmaline is a very unique gemstone. That is because Paraiba's blue Tourmalines are the rarest among all tourmalines. But this specific Tourmaline has a dark blue color wich is exactly the same as the Sapphire's natural color.

Blue is the traditional color for sapphires, from a dark deep blue, to a bright cornflower blue (a ceylonese sapphire) but they can also be clear, yellow, green, purple, peach/orange, gold or a blend of colors (often referred to as "rainbow").
