Men's fashion has become somewhat boring, you'll pardon my saying so. But it wasn't always. A good example is the ever-popular swallowtail coat. A functional and yet swaggering, rakish garment if there ever was one, for both gentlemen and scoundrel.

This style of coat-dress was called a joseph or riding coat (borrowed in French as redingote), usually of unadorned or simply trimmed woolen fabric, with full-length, tight sleeves and a broad collar with lapels or revers. The redingote was later worn as an overcoat with the light-weight chemise dress.

This version of the Swallowtial coat is comprised of a Ornate patterned Gold on Gold Tapestry Cloth and lined with black satin lining. Black velvet adorns the lapels, collar and cuffs.

Adjustable cuffs and ornate brass buttons will adorn in fine fashion.
