This listing is a reproduction of the Renaissance corset known as the Dorothea Bodies. The corset is made out of unbleached cotton coutil (shown in pic 4) and edged with bias tape. It is stiffened in throughout with flexible steel boning. The corset laces closed in back and at the shoulders. Front lacing can be added for an additional $5-$25 (choose one of the "F&B" options).

The Dorothea Bodies (corsets were called “Pairs of Bodies” in the Renaissance) omits boning in the bust to allow for a more natural bust shape and a bit more breathing room. I adapted this corset from its original design to allow the boning to run down into the tabs at the waist to keep it from pinching.

This corset can also be covered in a colored or printed cotton, linen (pics 1-3), jacquard, or dupioni silk. Printed, woven, or embroidered silk can also be used as a covering and a separate invoice will be issued for the cost of the fabric.

**The Plain Coutil option is shown in pic 4. Unbleached coutil is foundation fabric and cannot be dyed. If you would like another color please select either the Cotton Covered, Linen Covered, Jacquard, or Silk Covered option.**

**For a more historical look, hand bound eyelets (instead of metal grommets) can be added for an additional $25-$50! An example is shown in pic #5! **
