For the birth of my first baby, I wanted something comforting and familiar for the dreaded aftermath of childbirth. The comfort of cloth was certainly welcome at such a sore and vulnerable time, and I hope if you're pregnant and interested you'll give these a chance! I know I appreciated them, they were one of the best parts of being stitched and sore and bedridden! Alternatively, these pads will work great for incontinence too. :)

Delightfully soft, this set of three large black turned-and-topstitched flannel pads sit comfortably atop the colorful waterproof shell. Three pads to switch out over the course of a good amount of time are large and super absorbent to help with the heavy postpartum flow, and the shell provides your sore after-birth body with some much needed soothing with the shell's innovative ice pack pocket.

The shell is constructed with two waterproof polyurethane laminate (PUL) gussets, one flannel ice pocket (one snack-sized ziplock baggie loosely packed with some crushed ice fits perfectly!), two layers of thirsty flannel to catch what the first thirsty pad doesn't, and an outer layer of waterproof PUL.

Pad construction consists of two layers of cotton flannel turned and topstitched around two thirsty layers of ZORB, with stitching through all but one flannel layer to aide in channeling the fluid inside the pad.

Pads: 14.5" long by 5 1/2" (at widest point) or 3 1/2" (at the narrowest part of the hourglass shape) The last picture shows the absorbent pad in comparison to one of my regular cloth pads--they're quite a bit bigger!

Note: These postpartum pads aren't suited for very active times; they're for the very heaviest flow time, when you're relaxing at first with your new baby. Don't buy these to use while running a marathon. ;0)
