This is a stunning 1971 version of the 'Just So Stories for Little Children' which were written by British author Rudyard Kipling, who is well-known for having written 'The Jungle Book'. The stories, first published in 1902, are fantastic accounts of how various phenomena came about. The 'Just So Stories' have a typical theme of a particular animal being modified from an original form to its current form by the acts of man, or some magical being.

The collection of stories includes:
'How the Whale got his Throat'
'How the Camel got his Hump'
'How the Rhinoceros got his Skin'
'How the Leopard got his Spots'
'The Elephant's Child'
'The Sing-Song of Old Man Kangaroo'
'The Beginning of the Armadilloes'
'How the First Letter was Written'
'How the Alphabet was Made'
The Crab that Played with the Sea'
'The Cat that Walked by Himself'
'The Butterfly that Stamped'

There is some discoloration on the cover, but otherwise it is in very good vintage condition.
