What a cutie he is!!! I am finding in my research that these adorable animals were from a children's book from the 1940's called "Deegie and The Fairy Princess" by Ruth W. Rempel. The animals in the story were all made into rubber squeeky toys and in the 1950's, the Diamond Pottery Company bought the rights to make them into ceramic figurines. My mother had a collection of them (and even decorated the livingroom of the first house my parents shared with them!) I am happy to put them all up for adoption here for they can have happy new homes! This dear, sweet little horsey is 7 1/2 inches high by 6 1/2 inches long. This is the larger of the two horses and he is standing on a base of spring green grass. You can see the comparison of sizes between the two horses in image five above. For most of their lives, they were safely packed away, so his glaze is still shiny without crazing. He looks at you with his shiny bright blue eyes and he looks as if he is ready to "winny" and then scamper away! How can you resist him? In beautiful condition, a perfect addition to your collection of Rempel animals or as part of your retro decorating scheme. Also perfect for a retro or vintage baby shower gift or as a gift for Mother or Grandmother!
