Art Nouveau Cigarette box WMF

How elegant were the 50's, when smoking was still in fashion, and all the big movie-stars, Humphrey Bogart, James Dean, Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, were smoking on the screen. This box is from that time, surfing on that same promotional wave.

This is an Art nouveau or Art Deco cigarette box from the probably most famous art nouveau manufacturer, WMF.
It is quite unusually straight-lined for their style. The box must have been made somewhere around 1950/1960 judging by the initials. It is a hard perspex box with an elegant curve, with a metal lid, most likely stainless steel, with an intricate, elegant curly line structure engraved on it.

Length: 4.3 inch (11 cm)
Width: 3.5 inch (9 cm)
Height: 1.6 inch (4.5 cm)

The box is in a very good condition, the perspex has some minor scratches if you look very closely, the lid is spotless.

I have a serving dish which might have been made as a match.
I got this together from the same person, they are a fitting match in engraving and colour.
