Butterfly necklace. Large gold oval necklace. For the Naturalist.

This stark and natural statement necklace has a focused cut-away of a butterfly's wing taken from a 1960 edition of A Field Guide to Butterflies of North America, East of the Great Plains, illustrated by Marjorie Statham.

The hand-cut portrait is placed under sturdy magnifying, domed glass. Necklace pendants are hand cut and set. No two are alike. Actual item shown. One of a kind.

Brass setting is 40mm x 50mm and the pendant hangs from a gorgeous, heavy, thick, and shiny, vintage brass chain of 3mm round links. Total chain length is 30". Chain is new old stock, but closed with a new 14K gold fill (GF) spring clasp to allow it to be wrapped as a choker.

Necklace chain can be made shorter or longer upon request. I can also punch the setting to hang as shown here:
This design prevents the pendant from flipping, if you prefer to wear your necklaces long.

All my items come with a gift box tied with a ribbon for easy gift giving, a sweet hand-stamped tag, and a small zipper baggie for storage.
