Colonial Art Doll Betsy Ross Miniature

My special version of Betsy shows her wearing a full skirted Colonial style gown in golden floral pattern. Her dress is accented with cream ruffled trim and brown ribbon. Her real fiber hair is hand fashioned, and each detail of her face is hand painted. She carries her just finished rendition of the stars and stripes flag, with needle and thread in hand, ready to show off her fine sewing !

Betsy Ross is best remembered as a flag maker during the Revolution. Family history recounts the widowed Ross meeting with George Washington, George Ross, and Robert Morris, a meeting which was said to have resulted in the sewing of the first U.S. "stars and stripes" flag.Whether or not Ross made the "first" stars and stripes has never been proven, but for now we will give Betsy the credit!

Betsy sits at 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 centimeters). A perfect addition to your Early American or historical collection! Created out of wood, wire, clay, and paint.
