The last of my vintage and antique Catholic medalions collection, is this beautiful pendant featuring the Holy Mother in especially realistic and beautiful enamelwork.

I purchased this myself at a Vide Grenier in the southwest of France in 2003.

The neckchain it's on is not original to it, but of the same era. Note the strange big brass jump rings? The necklace came to me just like this. It could be converted to smaller sterling rings, or left as is, it's very charming, maybe it was done this way on purpose to make it easier for a child's hands to manage. Note the Art Deco floral clasp.

The pendant measures about 1 inch long including the loop, by just over 3/8 of an inch wide.
The neck-chain is just under 18 inches long total.

Condition wise the pendant is in "good antique" condition. It shows some wear on the front viewed under magnification, with what may be a small chip in the enamel in the lower front left quadrant. I have not polished the metal, as patina is an individual preference and very important to most collectors of antique silver items!

The pendant does test as sterling silver (925 or thereabouts).

I believe this is a Lourdes medal, note the scene of the grotto at the back.

I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about this lovely old thing, and I hope you have a happy Easter season!

SAFETY:
Vintage/Antique baby/children's jewelry almost certainly does not meet metals safety standards for youngsters of today. Therefore I can only sell it for adult use.

I cannot guarantee sterility of earring posts/hooks/wires (and/or other pieces where this may be an issue). Please purchase and use at your own risk.

LOCAL JEWELERS:
May try to sell you work your ring doesn't need! Be on your guard, refer to Item Details for info re: prongs and bands.

COLORS ARE APPROXIMATE:
Colors may display inaccurately on screens.
RING SIZES are approximate, due to jewelers' ring sizing mandrels not being completely standardized.

STONE SIZES are necessarily estimates, because in most cases, I cannot measure the depth of a stone due to its being in a setting. I measure the diameter (or length and width) of a stone with digital calipers, and estimate its size (carat weight) from its span.

BANGLE SIZE: Please note the inner diameter for the bangle. I suggest you cut out a mock-up on sturdy cardboard to see how it will fit you before ordering.
The outer packaging is discreet, nobody will know there is jewelry inside.

I do not use my shop name on the return address; this is for the item's safety in transit and for privacy on arrival, as jewelry items are often bought as gifts.

Pieces are sent in small carton boxes tied with rustic string, or cushioned inside handmade wrapping paper gift bags.
