Vintage box of 1 dozen Mirado color writing pencils from the Eagle Pencil Co. in Danbury, CT. Eagle changed their Mikado brand to Mirado during WW II. The art work and graphics seem to be at least the next generation after the name change to Mirado. So they probably date anywhere from mid-50's to late-60's.

It is said that Thomas Edison had his pencils specially made by Eagle Pencil. Each pencil was three inches long, was thicker than standard pencils and had softer graphite than was normally available.

Pencils are in UNUSED condition, and box is still in fairly good condition, with no tears, but normal corner and edge scrapes.

Box contains 4 pencils each of the following colors. All have the same grade of lead, True Medium 2 1/2

True Green #751

Carmine Red #745

Azure Blue #741 1/2

Pencils are 7" long.

Inside of box top has the following message.
