This is an antique hardwood mallet used by woodworkers to drive chisels and other woodworking tasks. This is what is called a turned mallet because the head of the mallet was turned on a wood lathe. The head of the mallet appears to be made of oak. The handle has a small swell near the middle in order to fit perfectly into your hand.

This mallet has great patina, the faces of the mallet are dented and marred from being used.
This is a unique item and it features no tool markers mark.

This mallet would look displayed in your den or office. It can also be still be used for it's intended purpose and serve another generation in creation of beautiful woodworking projects.
