This listing is for my small set of salt and pepper shakers. These antique hand painted shakers are about the size you would use for a quaint tea setting. I always loved my grandmother's small shakers, but these are larger than individual and smaller than standard family shakers. Each is about 2.5" tall by 1.25" wide. They are in fantastic shape for their age. On has a small nick (not quite a chip) on the bottom edge of the rear of the shaker about 1/8" round. Years ago, I replaced the stoppers underneath with tiny corks so they are reliably functioning. Again, this is for the set. I do have another set that is larger and a great rounded shape in another listing. Again, this listing is for the 2 smaller square shape shakers shown in the photos.

I had an entire set of these rare yellow ceramic dishes from China. I collected each one of these dishes one by one in Chinese antique stores over about 15 years and brought a couple back from antique shops in Hong Kong in 1999. The yellow dishes seem to be the rarest, making it difficult to collect, but because they have the red, turquoise, and black in them, they look great with the red, turquoise blue, and black version as well as other patterns or plain for that shabby chic look.

All damage is listed, but these are antique, hand-painted items. There may be minor variations in color or minor flaws in the painting or firing process. I have used these dishes as my only dishes for years. I have put them through hot, cold, dishwashers, and microwaves with no issues. They really do take a beating.

The Famille Rose enamel lotus and bat design of these dishes is very traditional dating back to 1700's China, but now you really only find the fake plastic version at Chinese restaurants. They generally have 1-4 Chinese characters. I was told years ago what they were years ago, but now I think I only remember "Good Luck" "Longevity" and maybe "Prosperity."

I will list these items separately, but if you want to collect a few or all, I can consolidate and lower the overall price and shipping. Just email me exactly what you'd like.

Thank you SO much for looking!

These dishes will be packed to make it in one piece!!! For that reason, I may have over-estimated the shipping, but as I do with ANY item -- any overage between what you pay in shipping and what the postage ends up costing (and I don't charge for any shipping materials or sneaky "handling") gets refunded back to you through Paypal the day I ship). Anything over the quoted cost, I eat. It happens.
