This is a beautiful blue Murano Sommerso-style vase circa 1980. It was most likely made by the Seguso family in Brazil and is touted as being Murano glass. However, it lacks the thickness and heaviness of true Murano glass and is considered to be a replica. True Murano glass MUST be made in Murano, Italy to be considered genuine. That being said, this is truly a beautiful vase with a deep rich blue color made in the Murano style. There is a slight indentation to the glass, a manufacturer’s flaw, along the bottom of one side. This, however, is very slight and barely noticeable. There are no chips or cracks. There are also tiny bubbles within the glass typical of hand-blown glass.

If you love Murano glass, as I do, but cannot afford the steep prices of the genuine article this would be a lovely option.

Dimensions: 7-1/8” tall x 1-3/4” wide at the top x 1-1/2” at the base.
