KNITTING PATTERN - PDF pattern booklet for instant download
Cabled Fingerless Gloves

This knitting pattern contains all instructions to make one of my most popular designs - Cabled Fingerless Gloves.

This is a small project, quick to make, and requires only one ball of worsted yarn. The knitting skills required are: knitting in rounds, increases, decreases, and basic cables. Detailed instructions throughout the pattern, including the stitch pattern and thumb opening. Instructions are provided step-by-step, round-by-round.

The instructions are clear - and may be sometimes excessive for an experienced knitter - but if you still have questions, you are welcome to contact me via email. My contact information is included with the pattern so you always have support.

The pattern contains instructions to make short and long gloves, but it is simple to adapt it to any desired length.

You will need a PDF reader, such as Adobe, in order to view and print the pattern.

You can find fingerless gloves are ready to ship in a variety of colors in my store, where you'll also find many other fine knit designs, all carefully hand-knitted by me:

These fingerless gloves are made starting from the fingers and growing to the arm. You can knit up to the desired length, or until you run out of yarn. It’s a great project for yarn leftovers. Worked in rounds, the cabled stitch pattern is not very stretchy, but will fits most small to medium sizes (up to 8 inches measured around the knuckles).

The pattern booklet contains both round-by-round instructions. For the thumb opening, detailed stitch by stitch instructions are given, so you’ll get a firm, durable and perfect finish. Pattern support is provided via email, if needed.

Knitting in rounds, increases, decreases, basic cables (instructions provided), cast on, cast off.

Definitely a one-skein project!
For a pair of 9-inch (22 cm) long gloves, reaching mid-arm, you will need approximately 110 yards (50 g / 100 meters) of worsted wool yarn.
For a pair of 12-inch (30 cm) long gloves, reaching up to the elbows, approximately 150 yards (70 g / 140 meters) of worsted yarn.
Merino wool is the best choice, but any soft-to-the-touch wool blend works well. Cotton, linen, silk, synthetic fibres and fibres that are not stretchy are not recommended for this pattern.

Needle size suggested: US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles or double-pointed needles.
