"Hey Mom, did you get me as soon as my birth Mom laid me?" my four year old son hollers from the back seat as I am making a mad dash across town to get to church in time. "What?" I ask, as my eight year old daughter dissolves into peels of laughter.
I share this story to say I have read my book, Heaven Sent, to my children over the years. Though it has apparently failed at communicating the birthing process effectively, it has laid a foundation for truth and served as an introduction to the concepts of adoption. It has allowed my family to communicate openly about adoption and allowed my children to develop an understanding of how our family was created.
(side note: my son's notion that women lay babies has seriously got me thinking of writing a book on the birds and the bees!!)

Heaven Sent is an illustrated children's book celebrating God’s role in the adoption process. The first line of the book will show children how their own special story unfolded:“In the beginning before you were made, God had a plan to bring you here today.”

The words come to show children that God, the birth parents, and the adoptive parents all came together to celebrate their life. Adoption was not just an outcome of circumstances, but rather a plan that was an answer to prayers. These children are, in fact, God’s greatest blessing to those who are involved.

Heaven Sent focuses on infant adoption
