Squooshy-soft - enough yardage for a quick cowl, pair of mittens, scarf, or hat. Self-striping, to create lovely striped patterning in your finished object. Green, purple, brown, a touch of white.

Have you ever knit, crocheted, or woven with handspun? It's such a treat. Handspun yarn is individually created and special - it feels wonderful as it slips through your fingers, and the item you create with it will be unique. Each yard is a feast for the eyes and the hands.

165 yds, chain-ply, 8 wpi, heavy worsted weight.
3.8 oz (110g)

Fiber is Bond wool, handdyed by Southern Cross Fibre Club.

Bond is a Merino half-breed that was developed in Australia in the early 1900s. It was the result of crossing Merino with Lincoln (similar to Polwarth, but Polwarth is 3/4 Merino and 1/4 Lincoln, whereas Bond is half-half). The result is a Merino-like wool with a longer staple length and a subtle lustre. Like most Merino cross-breeds, the micron count varies quite a bit. This particular batch is 25 - 26 microns. Very soft.

This is ONE complete skein, no knots.

Needle size: US 8 - 10 (5.0 - 6.0mm)
Hook size: I-9 to K-10.5 (5.5 - 6.5mm)

Great for knitting, crochet, felting, or weaving projects.

All my yarns are handspun by me on my spinning wheels and hand-spindles.

For best care: Gently hand wash cold and dry flat ~ if you want to avoid felting.

My studio is perfume-free, non-smoking and cat-friendly.

Frequently asked questions about DebbieBHandmade

I weave all of my handwoven items by hand in my studio. All finishing is done by hand, including fringes and hems. Every item is carefully washed, dried, and pressed before shipping.
I spin every skein of handspun yarn on spinning wheels or handspindles in my studio. Each skein is carefully plied (except for singles yarns) and then washed to set the twist. The yarns are re-skeined after drying to get an accurate yardage count.
Yes, I will be happy to wind your yarn into a center pull ball free of charge, just ask. (Large oversized skeins will be wound into two balls.)
My studio is non-smoking, and perfume-free. I do not use anything scented in the creation or packaging of your handspun or handwoven item. I am sensitive to scents myself, so everything that I use to wash or package your items is unscented.

I DO have cats in residence, though they do not play in the fiber or yarn - if you have cat allergies, be sure to take the necessary precautions before handling items.
