'Fortune Teller' is named for its 'birth mark' and the beautiful clarity of the hand blown antique glass, showing very light surface wear, rich luster and super high gloss sheen. The vintage collectible is also in a somewhat unusual size, 5 inches in diameter (or 15-1/8" circumference), the size of a small honey dew melon.

The 'birth mark' can be seen in photos #2 and #3. Notice the perfect round bubble in the glass with the 'comet tail' or 'streak from witch's broom' trailing straight across the middle of the bubble. Uncanny, fortunate and adds a bit of mystery. Certainly a reason to make a wish on this float! Fortune Teller shows a number of other lovely bubbles, from tiny champagne types, to tear drops and comets. Two pretty 'stretched', 'burst' bubbles can be seen in the basal area on either side of the seal button. One of these can easily be located in photo #4, at about the 5 o'clock position.

Fortune Teller, in a pretty teal green that melts the heart, is loaded with pronounced swirling throughout the body of glass. The seal 'button' can be studied in photo #4, taken in low, nearly dark light. The seal shows very nice craftsmanship. It's wonderfully round, measuring about 2" diameter. The outer surround shows the imprints of a sealing iron. There's a 'spot' (about 1/4") of glass missing - it can't truly be called a chip - but a 'glance' of sorts. It's as if it's been there since inception, would be my guess. There's no sharpness to the touch. Possibly when the sealing iron was lifted it 'glanced' off the edge and the glass was cool enough to release a shard or smooth 'chip' off the edge. Negligible, in my opinion. This is a beautiful seal showing a large, lovely 'pearl' or bubble of glass opposite the 'eye' in center of the seal.

Please note the light blue float seen in three of the photos is not part of this sale, but has been shown for purposes of color identification and also for the viewer to more easily judge sizes. The blue float is typically referred to as 'baseball' size and measures 3-1/4" diameter. Fortune Teller measures 5" diameter, not all together a common size. As you can see, there's quite a size difference between Fortune Teller and its more common place 'baseball' size buddy.

Fortune Teller, with is minimal surface wear, gorgeous swirling and high gloss in the quality antique glass - with its lovely teal green color - will make a wonderful display. It is casting shadows right now, across the desk - myriad concentric vortices, as if echoing across the surface - simply due to the lamp light behind the float! Imagine what it will do in the right setting with sunlight casting shadows:) My photos were taken in very low, overcast lighting conditions on a deck that absorbs reflections. Fortune Teller promises to thrill and bring delight! It's so quiet - yet so lively.

COMBINED SHIPPING: Yes - I will combine! Floats of generally similar size & weight can be combined so you save on shipping. These decisions are made at the actual time of packing, using my best judgment to keep items safe from damage in transit, protecting them maximally. Best option is to pay the shipping on each item up front. A shipping refund will be issued promptly via Paypal when your parcels are complete. My customers will confirm I am happy to do this. If this doesn’t work for you, convo for a ‘guesstimate’ on combined shipping of items.

CANADA: USPS has omitted insurance from the economy (1st Class International) shipping category. Priority International is the next best available method yet not cost effective in my opinion, unless purchasing two or three items & combining shipping. Please convo for a quote if interested. My sincere apologies!
