I have gone to the attic on this rainy day and brought down this fabulous family treasure. I have never seen another like it in my life, however I'm sure others have. To me this is really neat. As the title says: it is a reversible educational board. One side has 47 letters and 3 caricatures that slide around the circle in a track. There are three tracks in the center of the circle that allow the letters to be lined up to spell various words. Can you imagine learning how to spell with this?

On the reverse side are numbers and all the calculation marks: + - = x and so on. There are 35 numbers and 15 calculation marks. Add that up. There are obviously 50 pieces. They are shaped like the letter "H" so they are visible on each side. This thing was really quite ingenious to create.

This is made of pressed paper (?) and the rings are held together by metal brackets. All over the entire ring are caricatures of all kinds: children playing, animals, scooters, wagons, ponies, zebras, the list goes on.

It is marked "Original Cress Educational Boards Reversible" . The listings are:
Patented Oct. 15,1912
Patented April 20,1915
Patented May 20,1916

The board is in excellent condition.

I can just see a boy or girl many years past sitting pushing the letters around to spell or should I say misspell some word and divide incorrectly. What this board has seen. I hope someone will love and enjoy it. It surely is a piece of history.

If you have any questions or would like other photos, please just ask.
Thank you for looking.

Be safe.
