This beautifully handcrafted cherry spurtle features a turned Scottish thistle on the top, which is the emblem of Scotland. What's a spurtle? A spurtle, or porridge stick, is a Scottish kitchen tool that dates back from at least the fifteenth century. In it's simplest form it is little more than a stick, but these spurtles hand turned by John are far nicer than any stick. Sanded to a satin finish these are the handiest kitchen tools I've found and I use mine all the time for stirring rice, pasta, just about anything. Turned of beautiful hardwoods and sealed with a mineral oil and beeswax food safe finish. It's the kitchen tool you didn't know you needed, but you really do!
Each sold separately. Measures approx. 12" long.

This listing is for 1 American Cherry Spurtle (far left in first photo, featured in second photo).
Each spurtle is handcrafted, and may vary slightly from photo.
