An organic, silky, fruit and flowers superfood serum for skin that thirsts for calming, cooling nourishment and balance.
Cool and blue-green from hemp and german chamomile, brightening from elderflowers and pracaxi oil, soothing and velvety from pomegranate and baobab, light and thirst-quenching from passionfruit seed oil and borage. Made from an abundance of beautiful organic oils that just radiate gentle botanical power. Antioxidant rich, inflammation calming, exceptional skin food.
Small Flowers Face Oil is formulated to benefit all skin types, but is particularly beneficial to skin that's out of balance, hot (red/inflamed), acting out, or otherwise cranky. But this face oil also brims with antioxidants and other plant chemicals that help skin stay supple (i.e. the whole "anti-aging" thing), plus linoleic acid-rich oils which acneic skin needs most of all, and GLA which is helpful for flaking (eczema). Every ingredient is a star, so the plant power is gentle but powerful! This face oil is quite good at helping skin retain moisture, but if you need yet more of a barrier (e.g. on drier areas like cheeks), this does pair well with Deep Radiance Face Cream.
Cobalt blue glass eyedropper bottle.
Scent: When I close my eyes and smell this on my skin, I see a bowl of passionfruit and green citrus greedily picked with leaves and all, strewn with lacy umbels of elderflowers and little chamomile flowers with their mustardy centers. But it's not strong at all, very soft. It's softly planty, but the elderflowers and passionfruit are there if you feel like attending to it.
Texture: a medium-thick oil, applies easily and absorbs after a few moments to a very soft, silky, plush finish
Directions: Cleanse skin and pat dry, leaving skin slightly damp. Apply face oil, a few drops per part of the face (you don't need much!). Gently massage in with the pads of your fingers. Give it a few moments, and then gently massage again, your skin will have absorbed the nourishment.
Ingredients: organic hemp seed oil, organic passionfruit seed oil, organic borage seed oil, organic pomegranate seed oil, organic baobab fruit oil, pracaxi oil, organic rosemary oleoresin, essential oils and organic co2 extracts.
A little background on formulating this face oil:
If you know my line, you might know my Deep Radiance Face Cream https://www.etsy.com/listing/90723353/deep-radiance-face-cream-a-luscious It is my forever favorite and leaves my face wanting for nothing, for years on end. Still, in the same way that I don't eat the same foods every day -- because a body needs and craves a diversity of plants -- I've long thought it'd be good to have an alternative moisturizer with a different texture (to appease different senses), a different smell, made from a different array of plants with all their accompanying energies and phytochemicals.
I've wanted a face oil for the hottest days of summer -- when my skin tends to get a little flushed -- but one that I can also use in the winter. The challenge I have with face oils is that even though I adore so many cold-pressed plant oils, I find they don't provide lasting nourishment, nor enough protection to keep my skin from getting slightly dehydrated -- a bit dry and flaky at at the corners of my mouth, a bit dry and then oily on the forehead and nose as my skin reacts to the dryness. They're usually nice, but just not enough for me to not need to use something else on top! (This is why I've long loved creams and balms for face and body -- well-chosen butters and waxes, when combined with well-chosen oils -- they're just powerhouses at locking in moisture and helping the skin stay hydrated!) For years now I've bought samples of a crazy number of cold-pressed oils to assess their skinfeel and energy, and I've read myriad fatty acid profiles to get a sense of the properties different oils bring to the table. And eventually I found materials that really resonated for me and did the trick. This face oil is a result of this weird hobby! My skin is really into this -- even used alone, during the cold winter of 2021. And I can tell it's providing my skin different sustenance than the usual high quality diet, and my skin is grateful. I hope you are into it too!
