I have recently inherited a partial number of my great aunt's shoe collection. I never met her, but if nothing else I know she loved shoes from the sheer volume of this collection. Here is one of the neater ones I've found.

A high heeled Victorian Boot, this piece It is stamped JB at the bottom which is most likely for the Jennings Brothers around the 1920's. I suspect it is either spelter (a formerly popular zinc alloy during this time) or silver plated. It is certainly not light and could be used for a paper weight, as the pin cushion part of this has had its velvet rubbed off. You can most likely still stick pins in it, and I am told that during this time period they were filled with sawdust.

Front emblem reads "Washington DC", appears to be a souvenir

Measures 3.5" wide and 3.5" long
