I'm excited to offer this piece, which is a beautiful bookcase (or étagère). It is made of reclaimed wood from a salvaged barge that was destroyed as a result of the Japanese tsunami in 2011. The barge was moored off the California Coast (Mission Bay), when the surge of water, after traveling thousands of miles, caused the barge to break loose of its mooring. Luckily, a small amount of wood was salvaged and I am now using it to make some very interesting custom furniture with it. This wood has some of the most beautiful patina I have ever seen; it's incredibly varied with rich tones of green, turquoise, white, red, brown and more. Each piece of lumber is unique. The wood on this particular bookcase has been left natural (unsealed, but protected with polyurethane). If you prefer, I can seal the wood, which gives it a darker appearance (I'd be happy to send pictures if you're interested in seeing the wood sealed).

The steel has been left "raw" to give it an industrial/rustic feel, but other colors are available.

The dimensions on this one are 25.5" D x 17.5" W x 72"H. I can make it any size or configuration you would like. For example, we can add cross-braces on the back, eliminate the cross-braces on the sides, make it any number of levels, etc. This unit would also look great with industrial turnbuckles in place of the steel cross-braces you see on the example picture. Casters would also look great.

I have many different and beautiful types of reclaimed wood. Contact me to find out about other options currently available.

The price for one without cross-braces is $850.00. For one with cross-braces, it's $1000.00. Please contact me if you would like pricing on different sizes, different wood, or any other options.

I also create many other custom pieces in this and other styles, so, please contact me if you are looking for a coffee, end, or dining table, desk, or any other furniture. I would love to discuss how we can work together to design a unique piece to fit your needs.
