On offer today is a stunning very antique silver brooch, that dates to about 1830, though its design hearkens to the late 1700s, when elaborate filigree floral brooches decorated a lady's stomacher, the interchangeable panel that closed the front of her dress.

Jargoons are a natural diamond substitute in the Zircon family. These have a misty green color, that changes in certain lights to dove grey or citrine golden. They sparkle madly, especially in candlelight. There are about 36 of them, total, all rose-cut.

The heavy sterling silver brooch measures about 2 inches long by 1 3/8 inches tall. It fastens with a simple c-clasp, so reasonable care must be used when wearing it. Make sure that as much of the entire length of the pin-bar is caught in the cloth for best results.

This brooch will be fabulous for a spring or summer bride's gown, your jacket lapel at the office, or for authentic SCA wear for the serious garb enthusiast.

Frequently asked questions about AuldBaubles

SAFETY:
Vintage/Antique baby/children's jewelry almost certainly does not meet metals safety standards for youngsters of today. Therefore I can only sell it for adult use.

I cannot guarantee sterility of earring posts/hooks/wires (and/or other pieces where this may be an issue). Please purchase and use at your own risk.

LOCAL JEWELERS:
May try to sell you work your ring doesn't need! Be on your guard, refer to Item Details for info re: prongs and bands.

COLORS ARE APPROXIMATE:
Colors may display inaccurately on screens.
RING SIZES are approximate, due to jewelers' ring sizing mandrels not being completely standardized.

STONE SIZES are necessarily estimates, because in most cases, I cannot measure the depth of a stone due to its being in a setting. I measure the diameter (or length and width) of a stone with digital calipers, and estimate its carat weight from its span.

BANGLE SIZE: Please note the inner diameter for the bangle. I suggest you cut out a mock-up on sturdy cardboard to see how it will fit you before ordering.
The outer packaging is discreet, nobody will know there is jewelry inside.

I do not use my shop name on the return address; this is for the item's safety in transit and for privacy on arrival, as jewelry items are often bought as gifts.

Pieces are sent in small carton boxes tied with rustic string, or cushioned inside handmade wrapping paper gift bags.
