This sale is for one division of the variety "Darwin's Standard": (Netherlands BR) Medium. Yellow leaves with glue-green margins. Leaves have excellent substance and are slightly glossy. Thought to be a sport of 'Gold Standard', and like that plant does well in both sun and shade. Lavender flowers. This is a look-alike plant to Paradigm, 2007 Hosta of the Year, but comes from differing parentage.

Need multiples of this one? We can do that too. Just email me.

Every year we sell hundreds of hostas on line, with 200 different varieties available. For those of you who have large landscape projects or want to save on shipping by buying in quantity, we offer contractor's specials of 5 or 10 plants of a variety at a cheap price. It can take up to 7 days to ship these, depending on how soon the weather allows us to get into the field.

Many online sellers send you tiny tissue culture plants. Our divisions come from plants that are 6-10 years old. They will have large eyes (multiple eyes on varieties under $10 each) that will quickly multiply and large roots. Also, our hostas are field grown in tough Iowa conditions... ...wicked cold, extreme heat, and lots of wind! These are not pampered greenhouse hostas, and are not grown in bark mulch (American Hosta Society studies have shown hostas grown in bark mulch tend to die within about 3 years). If you want tough hostas that have proven they can handle what nature throws at them, these are for you!

For those of you who want an instant full-grown garden, we also can sell complete mature hosta clumps. Contact us for prices (usually about 4-5 times the regular division price). Shipping will be quite a bit higher, especially once the hostas have leafed out for the summer and need a large box to contain them.
