The Fisher Price Ferris Wheel is the very first Little People set that featured a wind-up music box and a ride that spins by itself. The Ferris wheel still turns and plays a lovely melody, "Good Ole Summertime".

-Made in U.S.A.,#969, 1964
-Musical Movement made in Japan

Approximate size: 9-1/4 in.long, 6 5/8 in.wide, 8-3/4 in.tall

The Ferris Wheel sits on a Masonite (wood) base.
The base has 2 wooden upright posts that hold an octagonal white wheel.(photo 1) The lithos on the ferris wheel are peeling and torn away in places.

On the posts it has lithograph pictures of kids riding in a hot air balloon and a carnival tent that reads "rides" with a balloon man (see photo 3).

There is wear and tear on the edges but still the paper picture is generally intact. (photos 3 & 5)

The wheel has 4 seats (blue, green, red, and yellow) with a round peg within each seat, that will hold the little people in as they go around. This set includes 4 people: red, green, blue, and yellow. (photos 2 & 5)

The base has 2 yellow wooden steps under the wheel to load and unload passengers.

One side of the wheel has a small white plastic ticket booth house. The front has a round white plastic turn knob marked "TURN" with an arrow in blue.(photo 1)

The knob activates the Ferris Wheel by making it turn and the music box to play "In the Good Ole Summertime".

The side of the ticket booth has a permanently attached grumpy-faced boy who turns a geared crank handle as the ferris wheel spins . The grumpy-faced boy who turns the crank has a blue body, white plastic arms, a wooden head with freckles and eyebrows, and a yellow sideways baseball cap. (photo 4)

This set would look great in a collection or on the play room floor; it still has years of use left.

The quality is great because it still works after all these years.

** What a great vintage toy for the collector!
