This is a lovely round pewter trinket box made by Metzke in 1978. It is the most elaborate Metzke can I have seen. The heavy top depicts a group of four men in a forest encircling a unicorn. The men have eight dogs with them on the hunt. Two of the men hold spears. This can is used, but in great vintage condition, with a nice patina.

Metzke was an artist who began selling his designs in 1963. He seemed to have a fascination with unicorns, which played an integral role in his later designs.

The can measures 2.75" tall, with a diameter of 3.75"
