These 8 FANTASTIC apple-shaped, collectable napkin rings are a Bijan design, produced in 1980 by U.S. Acrylic, Inc. All are made of clear acrylic/Lucite and are in like-new condition, with no cracks or crazing to report -- they even come in their original boxes! (Two sets of four are included.) Each bears the "Bijan (c) 1980 / Taiwan" stamp on its flat base and measures about 2-5/8" in diameter and 3/4" deep. NOTE: The third photo above shows this trademark, but it's difficult to make out.

Bijan Pakzad -- generally known simply as "bijan" -- was an Iranian designer of menswear and fragrances. His exclusive boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills was established in 1976 and has been described as "the most expensive store in the world." One of the boxes still has the price sticker (presumably from 1980) for $9.49. So, yeah, I'm guessing that "expensive" reputation is accurate. :o)

Throughout his design career, Bijan dressed a seemingly endless list of some of the world's most influential men, including U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush; actors Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Cruise and Sir Anthony Hopkins -- even other world-class designers such as Giorgio Armani, Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford. Bijan passed away in 2011.

These are definitely a swanky conversation starter for your dinner parties and get-togethers! Based on my research, it's rare to find so many of the same design in one place. (Other Bijan napkin ring designs include pears, owls, whales and quail.) Of the same design, I've been able to find lots of sets of 2, some sets of 4, and the occasional set of 6 -- but no other sets of 8.

NOTE: Because this is a smaller-scale item, I can offer gift-wrapping for an additional $3. Convo me if this is something you're interested in having me do.
