This 7 strand necklace is designed after the Crow Native American Style of Breastplate. The Crow people had a unique style of making breastplates which consisted of many strands of beads instead of the usual mainly hair pipe style. Each strand consisted of glass "crow" beads with hair-pipe beads at the end of each row.

While breastplates were worn for there ability to protect. This item is strictly decorative. It is made of imported beads along with beads which I have hand rolled from pages of magazines which were destined for the trash bin. However I rescued them making this item partly "green". I use hand rolled paper beads which I have coated with an apoxy instead of "hair-pipe" bone beads which are used traditionally.

I use sinew to string my beads in keeping with the traditional way of stringing. The knots are burned at the ends to make them secure.

Size: Hangs from top strand at approx. 9" and bottem strand at approx. 17"
